Tourist Attractions Wayanad Kerala 
Chembra Peak
Chembra Peak is the highest peak in Wayanad, at 2,100 metres above sea level. Chembra is located near the town of Meppady and is 8 km south of Kalpetta. It is part of the Wayanad hill ranges in Western Ghats, adjoining the Nilgiri Hills in Tamilnadu and Vellarimala in Kozhikode district in Kerala. Once you reach the top of Chembra peak, you will be astounded by the view that the place offers. With the varying shades of the virgin shola forests on both sides, you may feel a heavenly bliss that only the pristine nature can bestow upon human beings.

Edakkal Caves
Edakkal Caves are situated about 16 km from Sulthan Bathery and tourists have to trek up the Ambukuthi Hill to reach the caves. The trek up the hill, peppered with coffee plantations, is worth an experience and it takes almost 45 minutes to climb the hill. The lush greenery and scenic landscape around and the cool breeze that carries the aroma of coffee will surely make your journey an unforgettable one. This location of breathtaking beauty is three kilometres from Ambalavayal which is 25 kilometres from Kalpetta. The Edakkal cave in the Ambukuthy mountain, is not a cave in the real sense.

Kuruva Islands
Kuruva Islands is 17 km east of Mananthavady and 10 km north west of Pulpally, nearby towns in Wayanad District. The island surrounded by streams and river can be accessed using rafts or fiber boats run by Kerala Tourism Department. Its unique geographical characteristics make it a place where not only the leaves but also silence is evergreen being away from cities and thus it has become a place of attraction. Most recently, it has been identified as the most visited place in the district by tourists drawn from all over the globe.

Pookode Lake
Pookode Lake is a scenic freshwater lake in the Wayanad district in Kerala, South India. Pookode is a natural fresh water lake nestling amid evergreen forests and mountain slopes at an altitude of 770 meters above sea level. It is 15 km away from Kalpetta. Pookot Lake, nestled in the lap of mountains, is one of the perfect destinations that any nature-tourist longs to visit. The serenity and the romantic elements of the idyllic setting have made it one of the most sought-after destinations in Wayanad.

Kanthanpara Falls
A beautiful waterfall situated about 22 km away from Kalpetta. Smaller than the Sentinel Rock waterfalls, the Kanthanpara Falls and its surroundings make an ideal picnic spot in Wayanad. Nearest railway station is Kozhikode, about 73 km from Kalpetta, Nearest airport is Karipur International Airport, about 86 km.Relatively smaller than Sentinal Rock Waterfall and rather less frequented, Kanthanpara and its surroundings are nonetheless very pleasant. An easy hike away from the main road, it is perfect for picnic.

Lakkidi
Lakkidi is the gateway of Wayanad district of Kerala state, south India. It gets the second highest degree of rainfall in the world. Lakkidi is one of the highest locations in Wayanad. It is situated 700 m above mean sea level, atop Thamarassery ghat pass. Vythiri is the nearest town, just 5 km from Lakkidi. Chain tree, Pookot Lake, Sight seeing point on ghat road and number of tourist resorts are within 5 km from Lakkidi. It is about 58 km northeast of Kozhikode district. Tourists often stop by Lakkidi View Point, the vantage point which offers dazzling views of the surrounding cliffs and valleys.

Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary
Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary or Wayanad Wildlife sanctuary in Wayanad, Kerala, has a wide variety of animals. Visitors are restricted to the outer tourist zone. The sanctuary is located 20 km east of Mananthavady, 13 km from Thirunelly on the Kodagu Road. The Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the famous wildlife reserves in the district of Wayanad. It is famous for its night camping and a watchtower, which is located above the lake.

Banasura Sagar dam
Another tourist attraction of Kalpetta is Banasura Sagar dam. It is the largest earth dam in India and the second largest of its kind in Asia. The dam is made up of massive stacks of stones and boulders. Banasura Sagar Dam, which impounds the Karamanathodu tributary of the Kabini River.In the dam's reservoir there is a set of islands that were formed when the reservoir submerged the surrounding areas. The islands with the Banasura hills in the background provide a spectacular view. It is the largest earth dam in India and the second largest of its kind in Asia.

Meenmutty Waterfalls, Kalpetta

An interesting 2 km jungle trek will lead to the largest and most spectacular waterfall in Wayanad - Meenmutty Waterfalls. A unique feature of Meenmutty waterfalls is that the water drops from nearly 1000 ft over three stages, presenting a triple-decker effect. The falls is located on the Ooty main road in Wayanad. Nearest railway station is Kozhikode, via Kozhikode-Vythiri-Gudallur Hwy, about 97 km, Nearest airport is Karipur International Airport, via Kozhikode - Nilambur - Gudalur Rd, about 107 km.
