EZHATTUMUGHAM NATURE TOURISM VILLAGE NEAR COCHIN
This time let us explore the village beauty of Ernakulam. About 12 km away from Cochin International Airport is located the most beautiful nature village, Ezhayyumugham. If you are not on a private vehicle, you need to reach Angamally and from there get a taxi to this wonderful spot. You can see a different face of Cochin at this serene, calm village that show you the beauty of pristine nature. Though there is not much tourism developments achieved at here, this beautiful village is observing a better tourist flock nowadays. The Chalakkudy River that flows at here adds charm to this destination. Visiting this small village will be a great experience in your Cochin trip.After covering the major spots and attractions in Cochin like palaces, shopping malls, backwaters etc. you can think of making a visit to such remote fascinations that show you untouched charm of nature.

In the summer seasons you can walk through the river to the other side bank. At the other side the Thrissur District starts. This means this village I the border of Ernakulam and Thrissur. The islets in the river are habitats of many trees and plants. You can spot many birds, squirrels etc. at here. The famous Athirappilly Waterfall is located about 13 km from here. This is a major spot for film shooting. Many Maniratnam Films were shot at here. Though there are not much attempts made to develop tourism at Ezhattumugham, they had made a nature village on the side of check-dam at here.

You can try out tree houses which are available at here. Tree houses are made of wood, bamboo, coir etc. on top of trees and the experience in that is a great one. Punnathourkotta is another nearby attraction that you can visit in the same trip. This is a must visit place for elephant lovers. You can see about 40 elephants at here. The major reason why the tourism is not much developed is that there is no direct transport system to here. The visitors needs to come by taxi that itself discourage most of the travellers who plan to visit here. The Government has to take measures to develop this unexplored portion that having great future in Kerala tourism.
