Chandigarh is a modern and one of the youngest cities in India and capital of the states of Punjab and Haryana, constructed and designed after independence. Tourist attractions in Chandigarh are not the ancient historical monuments.

ROCK GARDEN
Rock Garden is a sculpture garden made by one man Mr. Nek Chand. Its consists of man-made interlinked waterfalls and many other sculptures that have been made of scrap & other kinds of wastes(bottles, glasses, bangles, tiles, ceramic pots, sinks, electrical waste, etc.)

ROSE GARDEN
Zakir Hussain Rose Garden, is a botanical garden spread over 30 acres of land with 50,000 rose-bushes of 1600 different species. Named after India's former president, Zakir Hussain and created in 1967.

GARDEN OF FRAGNANCE
Garden of fragrance in Chandigarh, India is a must visit garden of the city. It is famous for its distinctive aromatic and fragrant plants. Garden of fragrance is located in Sector 36 on the south side of the Hibiscus Garden. Some of the fragrant plants that can be found here are Raat ki rani, demask roase, motia, Champa, Haar Shingar, mehndi and varieties of jasmine.
Chandigarh garden of fragrance also serves as a fabulous picnic spot. Tracks have been laid in the garden and now people come here in the morning and evening time to carry out their physical workouts.
   
CACTUS GARDEN
Cactus Garden is Asia's biggest garden devoted to rare and endangered species having more than 3500 species. The out door Cactus Garden has 25 raised ground features, 3 water bodies with water ways. On raised mounds about 800 species of Cacti and Succulents have been naturalized.

SUKHNA LAKE
Sukhna Lake is an artificial lake at the foothills of the Himalayas, the Shivalik hills. This 3 km² rainfed lake was created in 1958 by damming the Sukhna Choe, a seasonal stream coming down from the Shivalik Hills. It's a beautiful sight to the eyes and an amazing site to visit to refresh yourself.

LE CORBUSIER CENTRE
Le Corbusier Centre has been set up by the Chandigarh Administration, at the old Sector 19 office of the city’s architect, Le Corbusier. The Swiss-French architect used the office while conceptualizing the city almost six decades ago. The Centre displays and exhibits the life and works of Le Corbusier, so that tourists and future generations may be able to acquaint themselves with the rich cultural heritage of the city.

ART GALLERY
The Government Museum and Art Gallery, Chandigarh, owes its existence to the partition of the country in August,1947. It is one of the premier institution of India with a very rich collection of Gandharan sculptures, Pahari and Rajasthani miniature paintings. Before the partition in 1947, the collection of art objects, paintings, sculptures and decorative arts, were housed in the Central Museum, Lahore the then capital of Punjab.

Elente Mall is Biggest mall in the city - has a lot of options for Indian as well as international brands. Also food courts, restaurants, theatres etc are a part of the mall.

Sector 17 Chandigarh is the heart of "city beautiful." Main Buildings, shops etc :-I.S.B.T Chandigarh, Court Complex, City Center 17 Plaza, Tdi Mall, KC Mall, Neelam Cinema, All Branded Showrooms, restaurants, pubs, disco, Hot Millions, SBI Building Local head office, Bank Squire, estate office, fashionable clothing stores, licensing authority, Music World, Hotel Taj, Shivalik View, and many smaller businesses, in the lower and upper levels of the plaza buildings, items to be found include tailoring supplies, and tailors, jewelry, electronics, awards manufacturers, books, fabrics/clothing and regional imports. The plaza in this sector is home to many events, tradeshows, and concerts.
