It is very difficult to come up with a list of the most tallest or highest waterfalls in India due to lack of accurate survey and statistics. India is a store house of waterfalls . Also, many waterfalls in the Himalayas and elsewhere (including the Western Ghats) may be higher but are either undiscovered, undocumented, unpopular or unverified. Besides, height is not the only parameter of judgment.
Kune Falls in Pune, Maharastra India
The height of this waterfall is 200 meters (660ft) and is the 14th highest waterfall in India. Kune Falls is one of the major attractions in the Pune district of Maharashtra; located in between the two hills of Lonavla and Khandala. Meenmutty Falls is one of the best Waterfalls in Wayanad, Kerala
Meenmutty means where fish gets blocked, it is located in Wayanad District in the state of Kerala, India. It is a three-tiered waterfall with a height of 300 meters. The sight of the waterfalls is only visible after a hike of about 2 km through the jungle but is worth the walk. Meenmutty stands as second largest waterfall in the state of Kerala, the water descends from nearly 1000 ft over three stages. If you are travelling uphill to Ooty, you can drop visit this fall as it lies on the main road to Ooty.
Langshiang Fall in Meghalaya, India
This Waterfall is the third highest waterfall in India, 337 meters (1106 ft). It is located at West Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya; it can also be seen from the village of Mawpon. 10 km from the waterfall is another spot, Nongkhnum Island, the biggest river island in the region. Langshiang Falls is situated near a village called Sangriang, there are other smaller falls nearby this huge fall like Wei Spi falls and Kshaid Chong falls. However this falls is massive and gives you an experience of utmost pleasure and awe at the same time.
Nohkalikai Falls, Cherrapunji, India
This fall is the 4th highest fall in India, 335 meters (1,099 ft) but is the tallest plunge waterfall in the country. It is located near Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on earth. The water force has created a pool on the ground which is blue during winters and turns green during the summer. Winter dries up the water flow turning small streams. The name of the waterfall has an old legend behind it; it is believed that a girl named Likai had jumped off from a cliff near the waterfall in despair. In Khasi language it means ‘jump of Ka likai’ (Nohkalikai). This waterfall offers a different view altogether, the broad forest covered cliff gives a way to a string of water. It is a must visit spot.

Jog Falls, Karnataka, India

Vantawng Falls, Mizoram, India

This waterfall is located in Mizoram, about 137 km from Aizwal and about 5 km from the village of Thenzawl in Serchhip district. It is the highest waterfall in Mizoram (750 ft) and 13th highest in India. Vantawng Falls is made by the Vanva River and the waterfall creates seven storied cliff while descending. The name of the waterfall comes from a great swimmer, Vantawngs, it is said that he used to swim like a fish. It is surrounded by a lush green forest, giving it a scenic view.
Dudhsagar Falls in Goa
This waterfall is found in the high peaks of Western Ghats, south of Goa and close to the Karnataka border. The name literally means “sea of milk”, and as the name suggests it does look like flowing sea of milk. The height of this waterfall is 310 meters (1020 ft), 30 meters of width with four tires. Nohsngithiang Falls plunges down the height of 335 meters (1033 ft), and is the fourth highest waterfall in India. It is near Cherapunjee and attracts a number of tourists with its charm.
