The famous hill stations tours of India can be divided into four regions, the hills that are located in North India, South India, East India and finally West India. Lets have a look at Most Popular Hill Stations of India:

1. Shimla
Shimla can be said the best hill station for the tour. This beautiful place is situated around the mountain crease enclosed with amazing and chilly forests of Pine, Oak and Rhododendron. Shimla used to be the capital of British Raj till India was under their control, but afterwards Himachal Pradesh set Shimla as its state capital. Shimla is mainly fascinating because of its Colonial way of buildings and its railways are also historic and unique. For the best view of shimla the two points are famous one is the Scandal Point and the second one is the Viceregal lodge, you can enjoy the beauty of Shimla from these two points mainly when the sun rises and when the sun sets

2. Manali
Manali is again a beautiful and small hill station with soothing and charming beauty. Manali is a place which gives you a delightful background of the great Himalayas. This place is full of adventurous like rock climbing, Para gliding, hot air balloons, and much more. Not only this Manali is enclosed with the chilly and breezy pine forest and the powerful river Beas also flows through Manali. Its amiable adventure, peace and calmness have attracted many tourists of the world and that only have made this small hill station position in the Kullu valley, the most admired and well-liked travel destination.

3. Munnar
Munnar is a beautiful and charming place with its renowned beauty. Munnar is famous for its one of biggest Tea Plantations in Kerala in South. If you are a tea lover then you must visit Munnar at once. The well-known Tea Plantations, Kundale is surrounded by a beautiful and pictorial lake, which creates an awesome atmosphere of trying fresh hot tea directly from the tea gardens. Munnar is not only famous for its plantations but the adventure lovers can also have great adventure on this place since Munnar have the highest peak of South India i.e. Anamudi. Not only this they can also check out the great Eravikulam National Park, they can go out for Para gliding too. This place is also best for the peace loving people since the resorts of Munnar gives a beautiful scene of whole hill station from theirs windows and balcony’s.

4. Darjeeling
With the exotic view of tea gardens this place is very much famous and is located in west Bengal. Mount kanchenjanga’s stunning sight can also be viewed from this place. Mount kanchenjaga is said to be the 3rd highest peak in the world. The best places which are visited in Darjeeling are botanical gardens, monasteries, Rangeet valley passenger ropeway cable car of Darjeeling and also the zoo. Also this cable car in Darjeeling is said to be the largest car not only in India but also in Asia. Additionally the place has many villages, tae estates and also the markets. These places can entertain the people throughout of the day.

5. Ooty
Ooty is the place to relax. The environment of this place is quite soothing. People should prefer to go during the month of May and April. Ooty is considered to be in the list of popular attractions. Ooty has botanical gardens which belong to government and are spreaded in the area of 22 hectare. In this garden a flower show is organised every year as a part of summer festival. Nilgiri hills can also be viewed by climbing the peak of Dodabetta. Boating in the lakes of Ooty is very fun loving. One can reach the place by taking a train from Metupalaiyam.

6. Nainital
In Uttarakhand there is also one famous hill station named as Nainital. It is closest to Kumaon. The place has many things to visit like restaurants  hotels, the beautiful lake named as Naini and markets. Since the time when britishers ruled India, this place is very famous. Also there are many forests which have a large number of things to explore and are very mesmerizing.

7. Kodaikanal
Kodaikanal is located in Tamil Nadu. Madurai which are situated in palani hills are just 120 km away from this hill station. The name of this hill station means the gift of the forest. 1the place is filled with greenery and has large varieties of fauna and flora. The buildings of Kodaikanal have gabled roofs. Also there are large numbers of pear tree orchards at this place. Not only this, it has man waterfalls which are the prime source of picnic. A famous botanical park named as Bryant Park is also located at this place. There is a large market for things like aromatherapy oils and herbs in Kodaikanal.

8. Matheran
Matheran is the hill station in Maharashtra. This is the place which is quite close to Mumbai. Matheran has a large number of lookouts and walking trails. When you will visit the place then you will get to notice that the vehicles are barred there. Even bicycles are not permitted at this place. Because of thin ban of vehicles you will find that the place is quite fresh and pollution free. The most of transport through which the place can be visited are horse ride and train.

9. Mussoorie
Also there is a popular hill station in Uttarakhand named as Mussoorie. It takes around one hour to reach Musoorie from Dehahdhun. This place is very much popular among the people who live at northern side of Uttarakhand.  Many people prefer to go Mussoorie when they plan their honeymoon. Mussoorie is the place which is quite famous since it has a large number of facilities which are a great help for the tourist that visit Mussoorie.  The beautiful nature can be accompanied with the camel’s ride. There are different sites for different things like it has Kempty falls if you are planning for a picnic and Lal Tibba for horse rides. The beautiful site of Himalaya can also be viewed from this place.

10. Srinagar
The hill station named Srinagar is counted as one among the beautiful hill stations in India. Srinagar is the capital of state Jammu and Kashmir. The mesmerizing lakes and greenery of this place delights the visitors. The houseboats at the lakes are quite relaxing. There are a large number of gardens and lakes in Srinagar. And because of the presence of these lakes and gardens the place is regarded as the place land of gardens and lakes. The gardens at Srinagar are very unique they have a Mughal appearance which makes them look more charming. These gardens were made by Mughal emperors themselves. The most famous and the largest garden named tulip garden are there in the Srinagar itself.  Every year tulip festival is celebrated in Srinagar in the month of April. Many people who visit Srinagar always love to have the snow skiing
