Vembanad Lake
Vembanad is the longest lake in India, and the largest lake in the state of Kerala. It is also one of the largest lakes in India. A lake spanning several districts in the state of Kerala, it is known by different names in different localities viz. Punnamada Lake in Kuttanad, Kochi Lake in Kochi. The Port of Kochi is located around two islands (the Willingdon Island and Vallarpadam) in a portion of this lake known as the Kochi Lake. The celebrated Nehru Trophy Boat Race is conducted in a portion of this lake, in the Kuttanad region, known as the Punnamada Lake.

Alappuzha Beach
Alappuzha beach is one of the most popular spots in the district of Alappuzha. Alappuzha Lighthouse stands near the beach which is also an interesting spot for tourists.Its beautiful garden on the shore gives an exclusive sight. Imposing buildings of a colonial past overlook the shore. The beach usually has a good visitor rush from all over India and most of the European countries. Nearly 1 km from Alappuzha railway station, 4.5 km from Alappuzha KSRTC Bus Stand, 60 km from Ernakulam south Railway Station and 90 km from the Kochi International Airport.

Pathiramanal island
Pathiramanal is a small island in Muhamma panchayat of Alappuzha district. The name 'Pathiramanal' means 'Sands of night'. The scenic beauty of both sides of the lake as well as that of the island is mind blowing. It is home to many rare varieties of migratory birds from different parts of the world. Surrounded by the Vembanad Lake, stretching from Alappuzha to Kochi and the Kayamkulam lake, Pathiramanal is accessible only by boat. Alappuzha Railway Station is 16 km away; Cherthala Railway Station is 10 km away and Cochin International Airport is about 85 km north of Alappuzha; Thiruvananthapuram International Airport is about 150 km away.

Kuttanadu
Kuttanadu is a region in the Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta and Kottayam Districts, in the state of Kerala, India, well known for its picturesque vast paddy fields and its geographical peculiarities. It's the region with the lowest altitude in India, and one of the few places in the world where farming is carried out below sea level. It’s also one of the historically important places in the ancient history of South India. Kuttanad, the rice bowl of Kerala is all about an agrarian community, striking a chord of harmony with its physical setting. Four major rivers in Kerala viz. Pampa, Meenachil, Achankovil and Manimala flow into the region. Nearest railway station is Alappuzha , Nearest airport is Cochin International Airport, about 85 km from Alappuzha.

Marari Beach
Marari Beach is a beach in Alappuzha District of Kerala, India. Barely 11 km from Alappuzha town, this sleepy little village , is an idyllic location for a vacation. Currently there are only a few resorts in the area: the 'Marari Beach Resort' belonging to CGH Earth chain of resorts, the 'Turtle Beach Resort' by Abad Group,the new 'Carnoustie Beach Resort' 10km north of Mararikulam and the new 'Erandia Marari', a stylish ayurvedic beach resort. NH 47 passes through S.L.Puram, which is 5 km to the east of Mararikulam. Nearest airport is Cochin International Airport.It was rated as one of the worlds top five HAMMOCK BEACH by National Geographic survey.

Kerala backwaters
Backwaters is one of the major tourism product of Kerala. The Kerala Backwaters are a network of interconnected canals, rivers, lakes and inlets, a labyrinthine system formed by more than 900 km of waterways, and sometimes compared to the American Bayou. In the midst of this landscape there are a number of towns and cities, which serve as the starting and end points of backwater cruises. National Waterway No.3 from Kollam to Kottapuram, covers a distance of 205 km and runs almost parallel to the coast line of southern Kerala facilitating both cargo movement and backwater tourism.

Nehru Trophy Boat Race
The Nehru Trophy Boat Race is a popular Vallam Kali held in the Punnamada Lake near Alappuzha, Kerala, India. Vallam Kali or Vallamkali literally means boat play/game, but can be translated to boat race in English. The most popular event of the race is the competition of Chundan Vallams (snake boats). Hence the race is also known as Snake Boat Race in English. People from near and far swarm the banks of Punnamada Lake to enjoy this annual water regatta. The race conducted on the second Saturday of August every year is a major tourist attraction. Alappuzha is the nearest railway station and Cochin International Airport, about 85 km from Alappuzha town.
