Iron pillar of Delhi |
This Mutiny Memorial was built in memory of British soldiers killed in the mutiny of 1857. The Gothic style tower within Octagonal perimeter contains the names of the soldiers died then.

Ashokan Pillar (Feroz Shah Kotla)
The 13 mt. high pillar was brought in by Feroz Shah Tughlaq from Topta (Ambala) contains messages related to code of dharma:virtue, social cohesion, piety and Taxation. It is assumed that it originally contained the lion capital, the national emblem of India.

Iron Pillar
Originally located at Vishnupadagiri and acting as a sundial, the Iron Pillar was transferred to the complex of 27 Jain Temples by Anangpal Tomar. It's made of 98% pure wrought iron and is 7.21 mts. high with a 41 cm. diameter.

Alai Minar
Alauddin Khilji started building the Alai Minar, after he had doubled the size of Quwwat ul-Islam mosque. He conceived this tower to be two times higher than Qutb Minar in proportion with the enlarged mosque. The construction was however abandoned, just after his death in 1316 AD.

Ashokan Pillar (Ridge)
The Sandstone Pillar shifted from Meerut by Feruz Shah in 14th century was destroyed during the rule of Farrukshiyar (1713-19). In 1887, the pieces were joined back and the pillar restored. Currently, 10 mts. are left of entire pillar.
