Bekal Tourism
The Bekal Fort was constructed around AD 1645. It lays on a vast 35 acre headland that runs into the Arabian sea stands the Bekal Fort, an imposing circular structure of laterite rising 130 ft. above sea level. 16 kms South of Kasaragod on the National Highway In the year 1995 the government formed Bekal Tourism Development Corporationfor transforming Bekal Fort into international tourism centre. The nearest railway stations are Bekal Fort, Kotikulam, Kanhangad,and Kasargod.
Ranipuram hills, Kasaragod
Ranipuram is a hill station located within Kasargod district of Kerala state [Panathady Panchayat, Hosdurg Taluk], south India. It is located about 48 kilometres east of Kanhangad on the Panathoor road branching off at Panathady and lies 750 m (2,460 ft) above sea level adjacent to Bhagamandala forest range. Panathady-Ranipuram 10 km. Wild elephants can be seen wandering on the top of the mountains. Nileswaram Railway Station is 31 km away; Kanhangad Railway Station about 45 km, Mangalore International Airport (Karnataka), about 125 km.
Ananthapura Lake Temple
Ananthapura Lake Temple is a Hindu temple located in the middle of a lake in the Kasargod District of Kerala, South India, at around 6 km from Kumbala. This is the only lake temple in Kerala and is believed to be the original seat of Ananthapadmanabha Swami Thiruvananthapuram. Legend has it that this is the original site where Ananthapadmanabha settled down. Adoor reserve forest which spreads about 2 sq.km in kasaragod district is the home for endangere animals like jungle cat, slenedr loris, wild pig, porcupine, turtles, peacock, malabar horn bill, butterflies, medicinal plants and wet evergreen forest. illicit tree felling, hunting, encroachment are main threats for this sanctaury.
Valiyaparamba
Valiyaparamba is a small island in the Arabian Sea in the Kasaragod district of Kerala state, south India. It is one of the main tourist spots of the district and also a fishing centre. Valiyaparamba is located 5 kilometres south west of Cheruvathur separated from the mainland by Kavvayi Backwater and about 30 kilometres from Bekal, Kasaragod, north Kerala. Valiyaparamba is fast turning into a much favoured backwater resort that offers enchanting boat cruises.
Malik Dinar Mosque
Malik Dinar Mosque is a historical mosque in Kasargod district of Kerala state, south India. Over the years, Kasargod acquired the considerable importance as a centre of Islam on the west coast. It is the site of one of the mosques believed to have been founded by Malik Deenar. The mosque, Juma Masjid, which is one of the best kept and most attractive in the district, is located at Thalangara. It contains the grave of Malik Deenar, one of the Sahaba of Prophet Muhammad and the place is sacred to Muslims.
