Jatayu Nature Park’ unveils the advent of new milestone in the history of Kerala tourism, the ‘flag off’ to an experience, which challenges and supersedes the existing! The curtain to the much awaited tourism destination is all set to rise. Finally, Kerala tourism has a brand new destination ‘Jatayu Nature Park’ which marks the beginning of a much awaited innovative stride in Tourism sector. Jatayu Nature Park holds the pride of having the world’s largest bird sculpture (200 ft long, 150 ft wide, 70 ft high, with 15000 sqft of in-built area) of the Great Bird Jatayu, a museum, theatre and a bird’s eye view experience inside the sculpture which is situated 1000 ft above sea level and offers the mesmerising views of the panoramic scenes around.

The soul of the sculpture unravels the choice to fight and resist demonic acts; as was Jatayu’s commitment towards Sita - a mark of womanhood and purity. Jatayu the valiant God of the Hindus in the form of a huge bird, is a bright image of bravery in the Epic Ramayana. Ravana the demon king who abducted Sita, and took flight in the Pushpakavimana  (the celestial airplane) was stopped and resisted mid-air by Jatayu. Ravana with his mighty sword ‘Chandrahasa’ overpowered Jatayu, after a fierce battle which rattled the seven skies. Jatayu fell on a huge rock but held on to his breath till Rama found his way to him. The valiant Bird was given salvation by Rama. Jadayu rock is believed by the locals to be the rock on which transpired the legendary farewell between Rama and Jatayu. The locals believe the remains of the fall of Jatayu includes a pond carved out of the beak of the Bird God and the footprint of Rama which are still seen on the rock’s surface.

The functional sculpture houses three floors of a unique digital museum and a lot of exclusive technological wonders for tourists. The first two floors have the nature of ‘Threthayuga’ – the timeline when the epic Ramayana happened, represented in multi-dimensional digital and physical exhibitions.  The wing that is part of the body of the bird has 6 Dimensional projection theatre which portrays the battle of Jatayu and Ravana. The neck portion offers a flight of stairs to the eyes where the visitors can experience Jatayu’s perspective overlooking the surrounding terrain and the Arabian Sea in the distance.
